Rep. Lofgren Applauds Resolution of Visa Bulletin Debacle
Washington, D.C. Representative Zoe Lofgren (D-San Jose) issued the following statement in response to Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoffs planned announcement on adjustment of status applications.
"The Secretary of Homeland Security in a phone call today informed me that a solution to the Visa Bulletin fiasco has been found. The Department of State will issue an August Visa Bulletin that permits the filing of adjustment of status applications through August 17, 2007, at the current fee level, which will be accepted through that date by the Department of Homeland Security. Im pleased that a reasonable solution has been reached. I will continue to monitor the situation to ensure that both the Departments of State and Homeland Security follow through properly with this plan."

...that this thread is an act of an inside man (within IV) to spark enthu among members. Whatever it is...itz working !!! :)
Folks,
Let the ilks of sherman and zazona types bark. We all are wasting too much time reading this and responding to this post. Please disregard and don't comment on these posts; its of no use.
Let us all focus on the rally and the things that we have to do to make it successful and not waste our energy on this.. Each one of us has to work to make this rally a success, that is a vow each one of us will take.
Consider this to be the last post from our side.
Finito... The End...
Just before ending, one thing I would like to say to sherman and zazona types.. Please go ahead and do what you have to do; have the strangest notions in your mind about numbers in the rally, we not succeeding etc.. We will prove you wrong in every sense of the word. We will do what we have to do! Amen..

If we do end up setting a separate PayPal account, I would suggest getting the data and sending it via PM to members who contribute. Not sure why the information needs to be shared with people who never contribute.

I would suggest not to go to COPS, if those folks are working any where else just call immigration authorities and report anonymously that they are working in USA illegally.

Vldrao is not a god. His assumptions are based on the facts from USCIS data, Do you know that 22k visas were not issued. If yes, quote that. Nobody knows and all are playing guessing game. Leave him alone.
Take it easy dude. Lets put it this way, do you know that 22K visas were USED? If yes, quote that.
For me as one, I do NOT think 22K visas were used up in 21 calender days(ie approx 15 working days).
As for as vld..is concerned, I wanted his input cause his GUESS seemed to be pretty accurate as the thing were going. So to say, chill.

Actually we were called for interview at the local uscis, : My RD was Aug-17-2007 and the ND is Oct-15-2007. The DAO - District Adjudication Offcier gave me a heart attack saying that we are not eligible for GC as the cut-off date was 17-Aug and we were out of the window. Then I politely explained her, and then she looked at the RD and said that we would be fine. Also I called USCIS last week, and told that I filed on Aug, one rep said that they go by ND, I called again and the other rep said that "by ND". Not sure, may be uscis itself is not sure.
Anyhow, is it advisable to take an infopass now (i.e) before september . Wouldn't it be better to visit uscis office in september, so that we could strongly say that "We are current, and could something be done about our case".
I'm afraid that, if we go to uscis now saying that "We will be current in Sep", the uscis people might ask us come back again in Sep. And remember, we cannot have two consecutive infopass within 45 day. So what do you suggest?
Take the info pass is the best way for your solution. Best of Luck dude.

Is this period (July 1st 2004 to Feb 28th 2005) considered as Legal Status assuming the following scenario
1.company Applied for H1 transfer on July 1st 2004
2.Started taking Training from the companyfrom July 1st 2004 and finished Training on 30th Aug 2004
3.Started the client project and got payslips from Sep1st 2004 till 15th Feb 2005
4.Got employment letter from company from July 1st 2004 to 28th Feb 2005
If I am not mistaken, you can start working for a new employer as soon as they apply for a H1 transfer. You have 240 day period, in which it must be approved. You should be ok, assuming that you got the approval within 240 days of July 1st 2004.

Guys,
My AOS case is pending and I am getting married in Feb next year. I have just found out that my spouse's passport and DOB certificate only has her first name. My spouse is from Indonesia (born and citizen of Indonesia). I am planning to use that to apply in the ROW EB3 category. Does anyone know if firsrt name and no last name on passport and DOB will be a problem for obtaiing an H1B in India and later applying for her AOS when the PD becomes current. Please share your views and have a good thxgiving!
